This page describes various web tools and gadgets that any Islandnet.com
customer may incorporate into their web pages. Some of these are features
that are built into the web server, and the rest are custom CGI programs
written inhouse. Unless otherwise noted, use of these gadgets costs you
nothing extra to incorporate into your site.

because many people would not otherwise be aware of them.

Custom Islandnet Gadgets
These are CGI programs written by Islandnet to perform special tasks. If
you do not find the functionality you need in one of these gadgets, you
can hire us to write custom CGIs. If your idea is generic enough that all
users could use it, it won't cost you a cent!
- inBASKET Shopping Cart
- This is one of the most feature rich shopping cart systems you can find
anywhere. It supports various real-time payment options, calculates federal,
provincial, and state sales taxes, supports currency exchange calculations,
and much much more.
- MailIt Deprecated! Please use inMail instead.
- This gadget is a form processor. It can take the results of a form
and present it to the user, email the results to you, and file the results
into a database file. It supports mandatory fields, field format templates
(including the ability to validate credit card numbers), and can even
email pre-written messages to users who ask for them. It can even forward
form results to your fax machine. Need more immediate notification?
It can send a message to your pager when someone submits a form!
- PostIt
- This gadget allows you to implement web-based discussion groups, very
similar to usenet newsgroups or mailing lists. It supports threaded
discussions, keyword searches, per message icons, new article flags,
article replies with quoting, embedded HTML, and much much more.
- DownloadIt (unsupported, legacy)
- This gadget allows you to set up one-time downloads of files for your
customers. This is perfect for software developers who want to allow
users to download files at their own leisure, without having to make the files
available to everyone on the internet.
- dbQuery (unsupported, legacy)
- With this gadget you can place databases online and allow visitors to
perform complex searches. Results can be displayed N records at a time.
Searches can include AND, OR, NOT, and parenthesis, and tests range from
simple "field equals value" to "field sounds like value".
- ReflectIt
- This gadget allows you to make links that reflect (redirect) a web
browser to another URL. It also has the option to increment a counter
whenever the URL is activated. Useful for recording hits on advertisements,
for example.
- SequenceIt
- This gadget will cycle through a list of items you provide, inserting
a
different one into your page each time it is accessed. After reaching the
end of your list it starts back at the beginning again. Perfect for embedding
banner ads on your pages!
- RandomizeIt
- This gadget allows you to insert random text, pictures, etc. into a
page. Each time the page is loaded it can look different!
- PageMe
- This gadget allows people to send messages to your numeric or alphanumeric
pager.
- Counter
- This gadget can be used to embed a counter on your web page that
increments each time the page is accessed. You can select a text counter
or one of several graphical counters.
- Lastaccess
- This gadget simply displays the host name or IP address of the last
visitor to your page.
